The Venus Project is the most Technologically advanced project i've seen so far, but somehow i don't see "Singularitarians" to be interested… WHY? All they "Singularitarians" talk about is "gadgets" and short term thinking, (sorry for generalizing) nobody seems to address the social structure as a whole!!   http://www.thevenusproject.com/

Please tell me why?

In our current structure, any AI will be most definitely used for security and defense systems. War basically. Correct me please, if i'm wrong.

Hey!

I think it looks really cool but just really expensive for the time being. So beautiful, though :)

Expensive, yes. But compared to the weapons industry, even the Advertising industry, it's just a grain of sand. And we're not talking about consumer products here, i mean, it's a fully structured, self sufficient, residential city! All they are asking for, is funding in Millions, not Billions! Imagine how cool it would be for all kinds of new innovations. Technology would flourish, and be available to everyone, not only for the rich 1% of the population. And by being self sufficient, one city would create the other one without any cost what so ever.

I wonder if the Charter Cities being built in Honduras will have any of Jacque's influence.

http://chartercities.org/blog/…..n-honduras

This site doesn't say it, but their government did succeed in its effort to amend their Constitution to start to allow the legislation such a city would require.

Also I wonder if Jacque and Paul Romer have gotten the chance to speak to each other.

One would hope so.

Hi Pacman. Cool image!

I love that part of the TED video you post that shows the 'dark' parts of the world (where there is no Internet). "Rules can be bad because governments can be weak… not just because governments can be too strong…" (good insight!)

I like the idea of building more cities for people to move to. Paul Romer's vision is very nice! And the image of students studying under the street lights is very moving. Thank you for this video!

Thanks, and your welcome. ;) I'll try to add vid links that I've found interesting when I can. I've got some good ones all I need is the relevance to remind me of it.
Regarding relevance, as far as the original topic goes, the zeitgeist documentaries tap into various outlooks of some potential "new world order", well I think the first hints of what it might turn out to be could be found by following the UNCCC agenda after '08. You guys call urselves the G8? Now it's the G8+5 emerging economies? Now it's G8+5 emerging economies + by invitation only? Now it's what… The G20? All I can say is so far I like what I am seeing… Obama ftw. At least you know he's on board. ;)
