OfflineBriefly, and IMO, there still seems to be 2 camps- the nay-sayers and the yea-sayers. Plus I still think the concept of the Singularity hasn't fully hit the "mainstream." It seems the general public is too distracted by cheap entertainment to bother with the complex questions of strong AI and its ramifications, especially in the USA. I don't know when this will change, if ever. Maybe the general public will simply "go with the flow" when the time comes.
