8-bit

This is a very cool 2 min video called Pixels which shows how evil 8bit creatures from the 1980s Arcade video games invade New York City. While those horrific 8bit villains may just not be evil (or smart) enough for the task, I wonder if the same can be said about their 512bit great-grand-bits. Has humanity bitten off more advanced technology than we can chew? Are we all just bidding time until the bits take us down bit-by-bit?
