My latest short film SYNC focuses on a plausible technology used as a foundation of a realistic sci fi story. SYNC is a film about a not too distant future where cyberterrorism has reached a point where large corporations disconnect from online services as they don’t trust the networks with their sensitive big data. This is where Syntek Industries comes in with their SYNCs – robotic data couriers designed to do whatever it takes to transport your data package fast and securely. But when one of the packages a SYNC is carrying turns out to be a Cyber weapon, the FBI is racing against time to stop it from reaching its destination.
The scenarios depicted throughout the film are based on the “what if” notion of today’s cyber terrorism activities becoming more and more frequent to the point that online activity is monitored heavily while not being trusted at all. Whilst other technology such as robotics are continuing their advancement and could well be the thing that may help combat cyber crime in ways that humans could never do. Thus I imagine a future where you would want a machine to be your courier as it would get your package delivered faster and more securely without having any human emotions such as fear or doubt.
SYNC is currently being developed into a feature film as well as TV property.
