About Singularity Weblog
Singularity Weblog: Exploring Tech, Ethics & the Human Future
Welcome to Singularity Weblog — where we question assumptions, imagine alternatives, and shape the future through storyelling, conversations, and ethics.
Founded by Nikola Danaylov, this is where technology meets philosophy, exponential change meets human values, and we don’t just talk about the future — we interview and create it.
From AI and transhumanism to synthetic biology and techno-ethics, Singularity Weblog exists to challenge complacency, ignite meaningful conversation, and unlock the power of better questions.
Our true value lies not in the answers we provide, but in the questions we ask.

About Nikola Danaylov [aka Socrates]?
Nikola Danaylov is a futurist philosopher, bestselling author, and keynote speaker who helps leaders unlock context, leverage change, and shape the future—before it shapes them.
He is the creator of Singularity.FM — the world’s first and most influential podcast on the technological singularity, artificial intelligence, and the future of humanity. Since 2009, Nikola has interviewed over 300 of the world’s brightest minds, including Ray Kurzweil, Noam Chomsky, Peter Diamandis, Marvin Minsky, Max More, and Michio Kaku. His work has been featured by BBC, WIRED, MTV, ArteTV, HuffPost, ZDNet, and many others, earning him the nickname “The Larry King of the Singularity.”
Nikola’s podcast and book, Conversations with the Future: 21 Visions for the 21st Century, have reached millions of people in over 60 countries. But his mission goes beyond information — he empowers audiences to rethink assumptions, reframe uncertainty, and create meaningful transformation.
As a keynote speaker, Nikola helps organizations make sense of exponential technologies like AI, robotics, synthetic biology, and blockchain — while also exploring the deeper philosophical, ethical, and human implications of disruption. His core idea, The Context Effect, reveals how the stories we frame shape the meaning we find, the decisions we make, and the futures we create.
Academic Background
Born in Bulgaria and based in Toronto, Nikola holds an Honours BA in Political Science, Philosophy & Economics from the University of Toronto and an MA in Political Science from York University, where he wrote his thesis, Hacking Destiny: Critical Security at the Intersection of Human and Machine Intelligence.
In 2011, he was accepted into the Graduate Studies Program at Singularity University, hosted at NASA Ames, deepening his research and network in the world of exponential technologies.
Personal Ethos
Nikola is a lifelong learner and a passionate advocate for ethical technology, open access, and vegan living. He has gifted 100% of his work to the public — ad-free and sponsor-free — because he believes ideas that shape the future should be accessible to all.
He lives in Toronto with his wife, Julie, and believes that the future is not something we inherit — it’s something we imagine, shape, and build together.
Let’s Work Together
Nikola is available for keynote speaking, storytelling collaborations, and strategic consulting. Whether you're looking to inspire your audience, unlock strategic foresight, or co-create a better narrative for what’s next, let’s talk.
